About Jane Wake

Jane Wake, a leading fitness consultant with over twenty years experience has been running her own consultancy, Body A-Wake, since 1993, leading a team of highly qualified and experienced fitness practitioners. Jane is now branching out into the world of mums and babies, citing her son, Daniel as her inspiration for developing the consultancy’s new division, Baby A-Wake.

The consultancy has strong links with ante and postnatal practitioners in fields such as physiotherapy, chiropractice and Active Birth teaching, so moving into assisting Mums-to-be and new Mums through each stage of their pregnancy was a natural step. Baby A-Wake has used its breadth of expertise to develop a series of classes dedicated to Mums-to-be and new Mums.

Research has shown that the right exercise can give easier pregnancies, easier labours and healthier, more intelligent babies. Baby A-Wake classes provide experienced and professional help, along with the chance to share ideas with other Mums. This can make a world of difference when it comes to looking after yourself and your baby at this very special time. The classes also include unique baby zones within postnatal classes so Mums can exercise safely with their baby in the class.

Body A-Wake has also helped to develop ante and postnatal training for exercise teachers in the UK by linking with Fit to Deliver, based in Canada.

Jane Wake was recently voted the UK’s No.1 fitness expert by the Independent on Sunday. She is also a keen journalist and has written for Health & Fitness Magazine, Zest, Bliss and Men’s Health and national newspapers (Daily Mail, Sunday Express) as well as being a consultant for the BBC, Boots and Weight Watchers. She featured in a recent documentary called ‘New Mummy New Tummy’ and presented ‘Kids Fit Squad’, supported by the British Heart Foundation. Jane lives in South London with her husband and young son Daniel.
